Time to Rebalance? Expectations for Emerging Market Stocks are on the Rise

To recall when emerging market equities offered some of the best growth opportunities in the marketplace, one must look back to 2013. Since then, the MSCI Emerging Markets Index has steadily underperformed the S&P 500, and not by an insignificant amount. Encouragingly, though, the asset class showed real signs of life toward the end of last year, climbing nearly 10% over the year’s final three months. We suggest that the fourth quarter of 2022 was a glimpse at further recovery on the horizon in the emerging markets equity space.
