Shelton Capital Management Introduces Emerging Markets Fund

DENVER, July 21, 2020 — Shelton Capital Management, a multi-strategy investment manager, announced the launch of its new fund, the Shelton Emerging Markets Fund (Ticker Symbols: EMSQX, EMSLX), effective June 29, 2020. The Shelton Emerging Markets Fund is the successor fund to the ICON Emerging Markets Fund.

The Fund, managed by Andrew Manton, seeks to achieve long-term capital appreciation utilizing a proprietary process and the team’s “Corporate Life-Cycle” approach which categorizes the emerging market investment universe of over 1,500 companies into five categories: Innovation, Expansion, Deceleration, Maturity, and Distress. The team focuses on identifying securities, industries and sectors that are of high conviction and may be underpriced relative to our calculation of intrinsic value. In conjunction with the Corporate Life-Cycle approach, the team incorporates a principles-based component to its investment approach, seeking to invest in businesses it believes on the whole are beneficial to society, while also screening out businesses it views as not meeting those standards.

Andrew Manton, Portfolio Manager of the Fund, said “We are extremely excited about adding the ICON Emerging Markets Fund to our fund family. While we have been investing in developing markets for over a decade, managing a strategy specific to these countries has long been a goal of our team. I believe our Life-Cycle based process is particularly well suited for these markets and we will manage the fund in a similar fashion as our International Select Equity Fund with a concentrated, high active share portfolio that is capable of consistently outperforming the index.”

The ICON International Equity Fund was also merged into Shelton’s International Select Equity Fund, which has received a 5-star Morningstar Rating™.
